This thread is for links to favorite sports car videos and videos of favorite sports cars. Please pile on and post up if you find something you like. Long, short, historic, recent, whatever, just remember sports cars are the theme.

Here are just two to start. The first, my favorite (so far), is a brilliant 41 minute recap of the 1965 Targa Florio. The second is a 2007 classics race from the Nurburgring. Enjoy.

It was a great car Steve. All 75hp. It would have done well on the Dragon, but the trip down would not be fun. :biggrin5:

The Cheetah was sort of a muscle sports car and meant to be Chevy's answer to Ford's Cobra but the project died off as explained in this first video. Most are replicas but this is an original.

From what I've read the short wheelbase made for a very twitchy car with diabolical handling....

Here's another fun, low power classic I always thought it would be fun to take for a spin.

Austin Healey Frog / Bug Eye Sprite.

That was a very cool car Steve. Yes, they were low power, but there was no such thing as "interstate highways" back then. On a two lane, they were just fine.

I'd love to drive this one...I'd settle for just seeing this one in person. Aston Martin DB4 Zagato, beautiful.

Not to be confused with the new Aston Martin V12 Zagato...also beautiful.

Posted elsewhere but I don't care. Lotus racing at Bathurst, the Mount Panorama circuit, Australia. Onboard drive from 16th to 1st in just a couple minutes!

Another cool car Jim. Great lines and another version of that sweet old British sports car sound! I went through 4 or 5 exhaust systems trying to get that sort of a sound from my Justa Cooper.

Here's another vid, not a rally spec. Sorry about the muzak© but you get to see the gorgeous car and between musical interludes you get to hear the sweet sound.

    One more for good measure.

There are some beautiful old sports cars in this one from the 2012 Monaco Historic.

For Ferrari lovers, the iconic 250 GTO.

They were built to race in Europe and won most races they entered. Only 32 were built by Ferrari and when the FIA changed regulations to give other manufacturers a chance, most were bought up by enthusiasts and some became very rare street sports cars and occasional racers.

My guess is if you see one in the flesh the odds are it's a replica, like this one.

    ...or this hand-made museum specimen.

The GTOs in these videos, however, are originals. Warning, the vids are clips from a somewhat dry personal documentary by a guy who owned one in his youth, but the cars are great and there's good info among the reminiscing.

Mercedes 300SL Gullwing. This one comes with an article.

Why the Mercedes 300SL Gullwing is so damn special, as described by an owner (Autoblog.com)
I love this guy's attitude!

When I got my driver's license all I wanted was a TR6. I didn't get near one of course, I think there was probably a grand total of one TR6 at the time in my home town. I rarely caught a glimpse of it but lusted after it.

Can't find really good videos, these will have to do.

An old commercial from the 70s:

URBAN OUTLAW is a portrait of Magnus Walker, the rebel Porsche customizer who turned a hobby into an obsession, and an obsession into a successful business. From a workshop in downtown Los Angeles, Magnus obsessively harvests fragments from donor 911s, grafting them onto vintage frames to create one-off automobiles with the spirit of Ferdinand Porsche but an ethos entirely his own.

Even if you're not a big Ferrari fan you'll find something to drool over in this video. If you're a real Ferrari lover you might need a bib...or maybe a tarp.
