So every year we go to the Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina during the MINIs on the Dragon Event. This year was my first year and we did a car build. We transformed Erics' (helix's Owner) wifes car from a mom-mobile into a mean green mini. We called it the Wildebeest build because we used parts that we accumulated over the years in the shop to do all the modifications. We wanted to change the cars interior as well as its exterior so we bought Matte Green vinyl and I spent the week vinyling the car. It was the "wildebeest" build because the animal was said to be the last one created by God because it looks like it has all the left over parts of all the other animals. I know its a MINI but its something that I am very proud of and I figured you guys would enjoy it too. (3) 17" wheels and one 16" wheel. Stickers that Erics kids stuck to the window while being carted around. Took these off: Made this sign after getting sick of 1,000 people asking "Can I ask what you are doing" followed by "Why?" Thanks for sharing with those of us that didn't make it this year. Also, I've got some great leather sports seats to go in there if ya need them
Leather sports seats????? The car has Sparco knock offs (the idea was to build a really cool car for cheap*). This morning the alternator crapped the bed, so that's what I'll spend money on to get my daily driver back on the road. *I don't have a total tally of what we have into the car, but including the car and everything we have on it, it's well under $7k. How sexy is that?: for beater money, some imagination, and a lot of elbow grease, you can have a cool little hot rod. Who says times aren't good?
