Todays job was swapping out the the tired Dual Mass, and replace it with the Valeo clutch kit.

The quality of the kit is very good. Only complaint is the lack of a clutch alignment tool, had to play it by eye as the BMW tool would not work.

While in there I replaced the clutch release lever pivot bushings and inspected the guide tub. Everything was cleaned as greased.

The pic of the disk and plate did not take for some reason.

Love the feel of the clutch engagement! So smooth and light. Amazing how much quieter it is than the Dual Mass.

Stay tuned... Thumper Tpr1 and intake manifold going on next weekend. Then Mynes header.

Yea it was a bit dirty in the case but I cleaned everything up while I was in there. Also fixed a bad clamp on the PS pump and cleaned the fluid off the sub-frame.

The wheel + tire combo is looking good! I like the Thumper and Mynes products too, should be a nice combination of parts! (pretty similar to Mike's if I reckon right)

Sorry I did not have time to take more images.

But today my good friend Mike and I tackled the Thumper head, intake manifold, and Mynes header in his garage. Did not feel like being at the Dealer shop today, it feels to much like work in there even if its your own Mini :).

No issues to speak of really other than the timing chain tensioner not releasing and causing a bad rattle. Got it free and tension on the chain and no issues so far.

I cant speak of the gains yet but there is certainly no downfall. It began to rain, then sleet, then SNOW! So there was no way I was going to get in the gas with Falken RT615s in this crap.

The Thumper head is great quality port work that is truth, and the Mynes header is a thing of beauty!

So thanks to all the Mikes! Mike for the help and garage, Mike @ Thumper, and Mike @ Mynes :)
