    So, I'm just trowing the question out there:

    What are the steps to get the one touch windows up? What should I research to make this happen?

    As I understand the Roadster and Coupe did not get a sensor for them to be pinch safe for the one touch windows up function. To be honest it is a little frustrating to use as it is. Being new to MINI I feel I have a lot of catch-up to do and I can get some pointers on where to start that would be great!

    :cornut: On my Margi(08 R56 MCS/JCWm) here's the deal. No matter what position the windows are in, they must ALWAYS be taken all the way down and then brought up to where you want them. When you get to where you're going again, all the way down and then up. This is the difference between German reverse Polish logic programing and Japanese straight forward programing. Got it?:Thumbsup:

    Ha ha! . . .

    Actually, that's not what I'm asking :wink:

    When you hit the window's switch with a small push they go down by themselves. You don't have to hold it. It's very convenient when I pull back in my driveway in the morning.

    But for safety reasons (and a lack of sensor) you can't do the same to bring them up by a small push of the switch.
    I'm aware that it is possible to do with a software function adjustment but being new to MINI I really don't know where to start...

    That can be programmed in. I had Helix do that to Babs clubster at the dragon last year along with other programming. Where are you located? Maybe we can steer you to someone who can do that for you.

    But do you realise that if you could do this and a child in the passenger seat put their hand over the rising window:
    - the child's entire arm would be amputated;
    - lighting would strike the car and kill all occupants;
    - you guessed it - global thermonuclear war* would start.

    I've not mentioned any plagues of ants or frogs since you wouldn't be too worried about them if your windows were shut.

    Now do you see why Mini has to protect you from your own actions?

    * That Matthew Broderick has an awful lot to answer for......

    Well I realized not to touch a hot stove without anyone's help I think the same can be said for Auto up windows.

    I don't need MINI help. :lol::incazzato::lol:

    I know nothing of Helix yet. Helix sounds complicated but maybe it's easier than I think.

    I'm in Pittsburgh...

    Yes, but yours probably have that extra sensor and so why it works on yours.

    Unfortunately MINI may have nothing to say about it. It maybe the government's doings.
    I don't mind safety but I think it shouldn't be at the cost of people's pleasure and mostly to avoid lawsuits. I hate that!

    ^^^^ Yeah I know it's those damn British.

    If they want to do something useful try telling all their people to stop drinking so much tea. Take a good look in the mirror for god sake an look at your yellow / brown jacked up teeth. :lol:

    Most Brits teeth make the Austin Power character look like a teeth model. :lol::lol::lol:

    The convertible type Minis are all only one touch down and hold to get back up. I hear that it can be programmed but not sure of this especially on the newer2013+ Minis

    I don't think "those damn British" have anything to do with designing or specifying Minis these days. The Mini is a BMW product designed in Germany, whatever the marketing bull says.

    And show a little empathy for your fellow human beings, even if in a different country - I don't drink tea, so I have to spend nearly as much on tooth yellowing products as I do on petrol/gas. It's bankrupting me, I tells ya...

    I did a VIN Decode on the sewing site and the result under Interior states 'Pwr windows -inc: one-touch up & dn'.

    Made a copy and will see what the dealer says tomorrow when they're changing the O2 sensor!! Oh, it's a 2013 coupe.

    Great! I'll be curious to ear what they say for sure...
    Would the dealer charge one to do this while it is under warranty and service plan? Or would't they even not touch it because it would go against some safety law of sort?

    I must agree to keep it civilized... As far as what I said, I was personaly referring to the US government and specifically the safety agency... NHTSA

    Stopped at the dealer today and the service writer sent it to the shop to reprogram for power window one touch up..mechanic says the 'D.C.S. does not have one touch up on power windows'.

    I can only assume it is so.
