Just back from the dealer where service mgr told me that to have the dealership perform the update would by just over $300, but there is a link that I can download and update the software my self, at a much lower rate.
He could not provide me with the link, and searches thus far have been unfruitful.

Anyone upgraded the map on their roadster themselves?

Yes, people have updated NAVI maps before at places like the Dragon for free. Its easy to do as I have helped a few people remove panels to get to the plug in the past. Keep searching here on M/A or the NAMless site and someone will be able to help you out.

It turns out like I thought.
The USB stick "should" have had the move 2016-2 map on it, but appears to have been overwritten with a soft copy of the license code. Bedford Mini figured out what they had done, and completed the install for me, verified the map, and then refunded me the cost of materials. Kudos to them.
