Yeah, I probably don't need (and maybe don't want) the toe out up front anymore, with the OSG LSD, caster, meaty tires, etc. probably have plenty of things helping turn-in without it. And I could use "less squirrelly" and "more stable"...
I was originally going to up grade struts and coils but the more I read and think about it Colin's coilovers might just be the way to go.
I agree wilt CCT 100% on this one... You're going to want every bit of caster you can get out of the plates, but it still needs checked and evened out at the alignment shop. Camber, I'm currently running 2.3 front and 1.5 rear, which is overkill for the driving I do with the Rat now... When I can, I will be having the fronts dialed out to around 1.7~1.5 depending on cap temperature after some testing, and the rear will probably be able to be dropped to around a 1.0. I am at 0 toe both front and rear now, but will be adding a smidge of toe out on the next go round. Yes my current setup is amazing if I can get the tires hot enough... On the Dragon thats no problem, they turn straight to glue before I hit the state line running from Hellbender up... However, most of the canyons I play in here are too spread out, or there's too much traffic / rolling cones to get the heat to stay in them... The toe will chew the tires up more than camber, but a side effect is they get warmer faster.
Never hit the tree, just got lucky and did the Dragon-dangle until a local with a pickup and a chain could yank me out!
^^^ Been there, done that! My tow bill (for two tow trucks) was 200 bucks.... one to winch my car back up on to the road and the other to anchor it so it wouldn't hit and pivot on the tree I was six inches away from hitting. That was almost 40 years ago. My drop off, down through the trees, was 60 feet with Huntington Lake as my landing zone. Happy you got away unscathed! :beer As an after thought, this, is probably the stupidest thing I've ever done (in an automobile)... Not to mention the luckiest I've ever been! However, there's much more in the archives.
All batches are complete, ive emailed you twice, as well as a Kenny crickmore asking for some answers before i sent parts out. I dunno what the hold up is. are the emails not making it?
Ok Colin... I know what I said on the phone yesterday about keeping my suspension as it is right now. But, geez man, I'm think'n I've gotta have those coilers now! Yep, I'm think'n so...
