Took the 11 out in the snow to retrieve my 47 year old watch from the master watch guy at Galaxy, like new.....

I do hope that grapefruit hail is gone by the time I start driving towards the Dragon on the 9th....

Going to go watch the snow fall. Enjoy your weekend.

Ordered a new driver side window regulator, the second one in 2 years! I can't stand the squeal any more and 6 hour ride to the Dragon would drive me nuts! The first one was cheep for a reason.:frown2:

I still can't believe we are coming to the Dragon!! :D

Drove down to Baltimore to drop off an old guitar that needs refretting.
Then drove up to Lemoyne to check out some Bad Cat amps.
Need some more music stores here that have what I'm looking for,
but then I wouldn't get to drive my MINI as much.

Oh hell, found some coolant on the ground under the R53 - tank seams appear OK, but some residue around the cap.

I'm leaning towards replacing the tank preemptively before leaving for the dragon... really don't want to chance that.

Drove about 4 hours into the country with my buddy in his '06 JCW to look at this......it's in pretty good shape actually, a true MK1 Super Deluxe Cooper S.

Needs floors and sills, but other than that it's pretty solid.... not shown in the pic, doors, hood and boot lid......all in good shape.

Base washed / stripped my MINI down for a good long week of detailing. My base wash is a a multi step wash which includes a Honda 3,000 psi pressure washer, a full clay job, basic carwash soap, chemical guys citrus cleaner / degreaser used at full strength straight from bottle not cut with water at all. (VERY STRONG) << I do not recommend any DIY person try this method unless you know what you are doing and are prepared to use a rotary buffer with a wool pad before you even pick up a DA orbital.
My basic wash strips ALL wax and oil from my paint and will leave the cars paint flat as a chalkboard.
(Hipsters a chalkboard is what our teachers used in school before Whiteboards)

I did the inside which was not that hard since I do not eat in my car. Just a quick dusting and vac. Then I moved to the engine bay and clean and sealed everything. All machnical maintainance has already been done to my car last month so I rolled it into the garage for a week of polishing and sealing.

Rims have already polished and glass sealed so they just needed to be wiped down. I applied a new coating of RainX to all the windows and will leave it on for a few days while I polish the paint. I also put on this years layer of Penetrol on all black trim for that clean and dark trim appearance that looks wet but is completely dry. Penetrol Also repels water and wax will not stain it. It will last a very long time and I only reapplied because I stripped it off with solvent and a 3,000 psi pressure washed while I was base washing my car for this full detail.

I was only able to clean, level and polish the hood and a small part of the roof yesterday so I will down in the garage today wet sanding a few scratches and continue polishing.

I'm detailing mine outside in the rain now.

Claying in this misty drizzle then I'll give it another dish soap wash and roll it into the garage for some polishin'.

I let Mother Nature wash all the pollen off mine today. Now waiting until NM opens tomorrow so I can order a set of wheels. Still on the fence between Brembo/JCW and Wildwood BBK system.

I think mine ate something or the motor is going - sounds a little off all of a sudden.

Works great for blowing the water out of the cracks though.
