As I was scrolling down yesterday I noticed the the membership number was 9500 and today it's down to 9492 today. I realize this isn't a big deal but it piqued my interest as new people are joining but the membership number is going down and I wondered how this can be ?
I clean out the rolls now and then. Emails bounce and I look. See that someone with 0 posts has not logged in for 2+ years, I delete the account. Advertising rates are based on subscriber levels. I try to keep it honest.
Oh yeah...I should add that when I send out the mass email like I did today, some people will write back asking to unsubscribe. If that person has 0 posts I remove the account fully. If there are posts then I remove the email address, change the PW and move that person into a group that is not counted in the total. It is these small details that help set M/A apart from the run of the mill corp owned site, such as NAM.
Exactly why a high ethical standard, displayed by our Leader, sets the standard for those who've chosen to become a part of the FUN! Thank You.
I've been at the cleanup thing again in case anyone noticed a drop in membership numbers and wondered why.
Nah, usually at newsletter time. It's good way for me to find bounces and a list of people that want to unsubscribe. Now I could of waited as we were ohhhh sooooo close to 10,000 members. Nope, dropped about 30 off from today's newsletter. M/A is certainly not the largest MINI site, just one of the most honest when it comes to counting members.
