I have been taking my now 23 year old son to the Indy 500 since he was ten. In 2004 I ordered a Cooper S for the trip. We took the back roads from Atlanta to Indy and had an amazing time. For some stupid reason I sold the car in late 2005. The day before we left for Indy in 2006 I stopped by my dealer and the had an unsold Cooper S Checkmate that had just come off the truck. I snatched it up and we had another great trip and loved the car until I traded it on a Porsche in 2007. I tried to rekindle the magic in 2011 and bought a low mileage used S but due to a bad leg I got an automatic and never loved the car and sold it after a few months. Yesterday I went to my local Lexus dealer and bought a JCW with3,300 miles on it at a great price. It is an absolutely amazing car and I am hoping I can learn from my mistakes and keep this one. Looking forward to hanging out with y'all. Tommy
Welcome to M/A! Hopefully, your penchant for giving up on great MINIs, only to return anew, is gone for good and you are now cured and the current MINI stays in your stable for a long, long time! :arf:
It is a sickness that has cost me dearly. As I start looking towards retirement I start thinking about the money wasted. Fortunately I switched over to buying used so it has greatly softened the blow. That said I love this thing more than most any car I have ever had. It's chances for survival are pretty good.
