Can't believe I'm typing this. But after 10 years of MINI lusting, I can say that I'm a proud owner of a MINI Cooper. 2013 MINI Cooper S - 48K Miles, still under warranty. Got an extended warranty added. Clean Carfax, one owner, nothing major that I could notice (more on this below). Went for it. Picked him up last night. Drove it to work today. Shaved off 30 minutes off my morning commute vs public transport. And a nice 40-45 mins off my home commute. So winning big time there. I cant believe it still. Its a little surreal. Mega happy and hopeful of a good future with this car. I'm gonna give my best at making sure I'm on top of oil, and checking things before something goes wrong. I have this bad habit of thinking of the worst of any decision I make. I need to be positive for a change. Only 24 hours with it and I love it. The power. The pick up. The style. The seats. Just fitting right in. Love a lot of things. I cant say I'm a car person, though I do have lots of favorite cars. I've never modded anything. But first thing this spring I'm blacking out all the external chrome. And removing the stripes. I have a very specific look I want for this car. I'll never get into performance modding because I'ma cheap bastard, but I've read some good things about maybe upgrading the intake system, but I'll have to do homework on that stuff. I'm pretty good at tearing a computer apart, but never done anything to a car. I would love to get a little more hands on with my car and maybe fix things myself, but I live in an apt. complex and don't have a garage. Here is a quick list of things I plan on working on. - Black out all that Chrome (Headlight rings, taillight rings, grille ring, door handles, gas tank door, hood intake, the big chrome thing that goes around the car? lol) - Remove the stripes from the hood - The previous owner did a really bad number on the windshield. It has lot of small cracks here and there, and lost of little things here and there. Almost looks dusty. So I need to look into a replacement. - the front of the hood also has dust/particle paint chips. Lots of missing dots of paint. I wonder if this dude went off road with it wtf. My only big gripe with the car, is the fact that my iphone cable doesn't work to play my music. Come on BMW, really, I can plug in my phone on a shitty Ford car and it plays. Y-Cable already ordered. I'll try to learn a lot from places like this, I've read a lot of good info and have a lot of links saved for references. I'll come here with questions for sure. I just wanted to share my joy. Cause I just can't contain it alone. Let's Motor!! :yesnod: Say hi to Rufus.
Nice looking ride !! Twenty-four hours into ownership and the mod bug has already claimed another victim !! :biggrin5:
