Hi all, Newebomb here. Bought the wife a 2006 purple base car to replace a Saturn she had been commuting to work in. She was skeptical because the Saturn was automatic and she hadn't driven a manual in years. Car sat in garage for 3 months before she decided to drive it. A week went by and I asked her how she liked the Mini. She loved it! Thought it was a blast to drive. Thinking about stepping up to a few year newer turbo model. Thanks for the add. :cornut:

    Welcome to M/A!

The Generation 1 '05 and '06 MINIs are said to be the best ones ever built...especially the R53 [MCS]. they are the last models of the first generation. After those years all the new MCS models are turbos. Some people like them and some don't. I am in that latter category as my 2 '06 MCS models are supercharged.

    Pictures dammit, pictures!!
If you're seriously looking, an '05 or 06 S is your best bet, plus the supercharger whine is intoxicating.

Keep what you have...it's the best. If you want to step up, avoid the n14 engine. AND, welcome to M/A...the bestest MINI site out there.

Welcome! And take it from someone who has had both a first gen and a 2nd gen. Either find a '05-'06 first gen Supercharged MINI , or get a late model 2nd gen (like a '13).
