    Hello!

I just purchased my first Mini earlier this month, and I'm enjoying zipping around. Had to drive out of state, to Ohio, to pick it up but so far it's been well worth it.

I'm really loving the way it handles and how much fun it is to drive. I suspect it might be even more fun if it were a manual, but my fiance is more comfortable with an automatic so that's what I went with. Maybe my next Mini will be manual...

Anyway, I came across these forums while researching some info and thought I'd register.

We named our Mini 'Sheldon'... get it? 'Cooper S' ? I know... we're dorks :biggrin5:

    Welcome!

Have you tried out shifting the automatic transmission in manual mode? It shifts faster than I can shift a manual.

Welcome to M/A! As a longtime manual shifter, I just love my automatics and it's true...they do shift faster than the manual, but downshifting isn't as quick.

Haven't given that a spin yet, but I definitely plan to!
