Hello, i've been lurking here since last November just reading up on the modding scene and club scene for these cars. The Lady loves the way they look which started my interest. I'm still finalizing the deal but short version, getting an 05 cooper S it has 160k but a complete rebuild from a shop, SC and all occurred at the beginning of March. The current owner bought an 08 Cooper S and really just want's to recup the cost of the rebuild so i feel i'm getting a good deal.

I'm coming form the Subaru scene, just sold the love of my life 2008 Legacy Spec.B with a Tomioka twinscroll set up. Loved her but it was time to move on. I look forward to this new venture and will post pics of the cooper ASAP.

Thanks. I'm pretty excited. The new SC has a 60k mile warranty which is why i decided to go ahead on it even with the higher miles. Plus heated leather and Harmon Kardon sound :)

First plan is to put her up on jacks and double check all the suspension bits as well as fluids. Since i'm being sent to Texas for work for 6 months starting in May

You'll find a lot of Gen 1 MINIACS here, especially those with '05 and '06 MCSes. Welcome again and again, Happy Motoring!

She needs some lovin' going to put her on jacks tomorrow and check out her undercarriage ;) apparently she is originally from Minnesota.

That being said, go to fluids from tranny and supercharger? Also brake pads and lube for the sunroof, doesn't like to open and really doesn't like to close.

Oh and she's loud at around 60mph a rubbing sound, kinda high pitch from the back. What is the most likely cause. As a reminder 164k miles on the clock.

These tires are so cheap, that might be the noise

I'm having a compression test done later this week, as long as everything checks out (which it should because I have receipts of an engine and Supercharger rebuild only 1500 miles ago) but it was done from a shop I've never heard of and I just want to make sure. I really cannot wait to mod this car. My Subaru was a slow build because car payments however this little guy I was able to score for $3k cash so I plan to be a little more...friendly with my mod spending :)

Anywho I've tried searching for forum for local groups in the Utah area but no luck, also starting in may I'll be in San Antonio for 6 months and would love to go on a drive or two with other members, if there are any meets etc. I'm not real active on Facebook and rely on forums for this sort of information usually.

Welcome. I to have a black '05 R53 and came from the Subaru realm. My WRX was a fast car but my MINI is more fun.

I plan to swap colours after some body work, satin white and black top. I have a custom plate coming in that's far too nerdy to spoil without pics. I gotta get some tint on these windows.
