A friend's 08 Clubman 1.6 is having issues. It may be a head gasket. Looking for an independent shop in Dallas to help. Any good ones in DFW? Experiences? Techs to ask for.

    Many Thanks, 00cyclone

    Welcome to M/A!

My MINIs are all Gen 1, so I have no answer to your question, plus I live in Ohio. However, we have plenty of Gen 2 owners and at least one in the Dallas area, whom I know will try to advise you. Good luck!

Welcome. I live in Dallas, but have used the local Dealership, Sewell MINI of Plano, for almost all of my work, and have been very happy with them. I don't have first hand experience with any independent MINI specialty shops.

I do have a lot of Experience with RAC Performance, which works on European brands, but are not a MINI shop. The owners are friends and business colleagues of mine. http://www.racperformance.com/service-request/

I wish I could be of more assistance.

Of those on the list, I only know about AutoScope. The owner there is also a friend of mine. He is a big BMW guy, so his shop should handle MINIs.

Thanks all for the help locating a good DFW shop to help with this. 2008 Clubman 1.6, Compression check cylinders 1-4: 210psi, 210psi, 210psi, 35psi.
Pulled the valve cover to find #4 inboard exhaust valve stuck and had allowed the follower to jump off. So the head has to come off.
