Hi all, I've got a 2011 MCS with the 17" R98 web spoke rims, and want to upgrade the brakes. I want something like the JCS 17" sport brake kit, but according to the website, it will not fit on my car with my current rims. Without replacing the rims, does anyone have any suggestions? thanks!
my standard reply to all brake upgrade questions is: call Todd at TCE. he has products that will fit your needs. Great guy, knows brakes, knows MINI fitments......easy.
17"' wheels will allow up to 13" rotors if the proper caliper is used. For a low clearance application the DP6 option makes a great fit to about any wheel!
So true... MINI wheels are very unforgiving with their offset distance if you want to get a big brake kit. I got my MINI with the same wheels and once test fit them on my Detroit Tuned BBK. 15mm was the only way I cleared the caliper. Don't forget to get wheel studs from Way!
Are you going to track the car? If not, why do you think you need bigger brakes? The standard brakes on the MINI are miles above "normal", and I do track my car and haven't run out of brakes yet - so why do you need the upgrade?
