What's the best suspension for my 2007 mini Cooper base model R56 should I replace the McPherson or get a new type ?

What are you looking for suspension wise? stiffer suspension, tighter handling? lowering the car?:)

I wanna go for a more aggressive suspension so I can take turns better more of a racing suspension but not comprise my everyday driving cause I live in a very winter centered place

Welcome to M/A the FUN Mini site.

Just a little advice, add your year, model and transmission type to your signature and people will be able to help you better.

Also you may want to list your mileage is some posts when asking about some upgrades because depending on your mileage you may also need to do other maintenance things while modding.

Granted not the cheapest of things to buy, however coil-overs are very nice way to lower your car and get closer to the the turns. Plus i as well live in a very wintry place coming soon and i cant wait for it. but yes coil-overs are very good suspension mod you can lower your car in the spring summer and fall for stiffer and tighter handling or you can life you car up a bit for the winter months so your not a snow plow during that time >.< personally i like the h&R rss coil-overs but there are many good brads just be careful what you buy because with coil-overs you get what you pay for the cheaper ones will not be really the ideal choice i say a decent set would run about 600.

Sway bars will also do the trick for tighter handling and less body roll not that the mini really has much body roll to begin with. the rear could run anywhere from like 150-350 fronts about the same maybe more. but they will do the trick..

Mini on man its a blast in the winter :)

^^^^ Please NEVER buy $600 coil overs because they are crap and will fail.

Coil overs are not for everyone and they are not cheap.
Remember you get what you pay for. I have been down that road.

I good "quality" set of coil overs by KW or Bilstein cost just under 2,000 and if you upgrade to Swift springs that will be another 500.00.

Whew I was hoping you were not saying to buy $600 coil overs.

If you don't want to invest in coil overs you can always get a nice set of (4) Bilstein's struts and shocks and pair them with a set of Swift Springs.

Do not buy Koni FSD's if you plan on lowering your car at all.

I'll try that last option do you perhaps know how much those would cause and how much a good rear/Front swap cost ?

You can get a base price on TireRack for the shocks.

Sway bar first. On my R53 I run Eibach Sport springs and Koni yellows. I agree with Dave. If my car was a track toy I would get coil overs. After you get a sway bar, springs and good struts you could get adjustable camber plats and adjustable rear trailing arms. Always get a good alignment.
