Adjusting the "rotor" on the rooftop antenna to turn it to get a better picture.... Had cable most of the time, but that rooftop antenna that could be turned was useful back when the cable outages were a weekly occurance.....
...when 'TV Repairman' was the job of the future. (Go find one now) ...and who knows what 12AX7 means?
When RADIO SHACK had the "tube tester" board that you would test all the vacume tubes you unplugged from the WOODEN FLOOR MODEL TV in the living room, and test...so you could order the new one to replace the failed one... Thought it was odd buying a new vacume tube during the cold war, and having it say "made in cccp" aka USSR.....remember that part vividly in the waning days of tube TV's...
If the operator told you there was a long distance call your whole family gathered around because there was fear of the call being bad news.
