That track sure has character. Looks like a widow maker to me.

Entertaining commentary during the 1982 French GP. Brit announcer having some tongue-in-cheek 'French-ist' stereotype fun.

Warning for sensitive types: There's an early bit of NSFW on a French beach. :ihih:

that how can they still say it? I for one really miss it.

What beautiful music, the current cars sure can't sing that tune. :frown2:

My gosh, I couldn't have said it better....THAT is an F1 sound....nothing like it anywhere in the world....possibly never to be heard again except on historical documentaries...

BTW, there is NO "sound of the new motors" :-(

I remember the car was 1.5 liter but not if it was a V4 or a V6. Anyone

    know?

This one is pretty cool. The soundtrack is unfortunate but aside from missing out on the sound of the cars I think it works pretty well and for putting up with it you get some great video. I particularly like the minute or so in the middle where they show a bunch of different wings.

I wish there was a video but this may be the craziest of the big wings I've seen yet.

Lifted from Motor Sport Retro, the Brabham Bookshelf.

It looks like Jim Hall on the 2e attached the rear ring directly to the rear hub assemblies. It's level to the ground, not pitched like the body of the car.

That would also make the down-force unsprung weight. Which may not be a bad thing on a smooth race track. No need to over-spring the car to account for the aero.
