Man the video with the Polo are some great Monte road conditions. I'm guessing that is at a higher altitude. Once again we see that light under the left side of the bumper. Has anyone explained what that is?
The guys in the Polos must have got jealous of production Cooper Ss having their ECUs set to add pops and burbles on the overrun, so they got the VW engineers to set the ECU so the wastegate chatters like a chipmunk.
The first cars I remember popping & farting were the Quattro's. They had more of a loud bang on the overrun. With the sound of the Polo's you'd think they were powered by atomic chipmunks. Them's some fast little critters. :arf:

Just two night stages today. Here are the results after the first. Ogier says he drove cautiously and Meeke says he lost about 7sec to a spin...
Losing only 7 seconds to a spin. Damn that was one heck of a fast one. I know it is early on, but I'd love to see Kris on the top step.

That is why this Monte is king among all others as far as I'm concerned. Whoever wins is a supreme talent. How I love this rally. :arf:
Based on the numbers it was a fun day today, giving the impression of great competition to keep things exciting. That is, if Meeke can keep it up. Unfortunately, I think he's going to compete less than half the rallies this year. But it's too early to jump to conclusions, someone else may be able to take the fight to Ogier. So, what happened on Day 2? There were six stages today. Meeke started out with a 6.9sec lead over Ogier (see above) and ended the day 9.5sec behind. Ogier won 4 stages, Meeke won the other two, the lead changed hands three times, and they're now a minute ahead of 3rd placed Latvala. Will include results charts below from all the day's stages so you can see how competitive things are.
Stage 3 (as usual with these, stage results left, overall on the right): Stage4: Stage 5: Stage 6: Stage 7: Stage 8:
Kubica had an unrecoverable slide off the road... A close battle it is. Still a long way to go. I don't wish Ogier bad luck, but I do wish Meeke better luck. :arf:
