I just had a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast, Qik.

I'm on a high-iron diet since my internal bleeding ordeal last week. Quaker Instant Oatmeal has loads of iron.

I made some liver and onions a few nights ago. I haven't had that in 40 years -- and probably won't have it for another 40 years.

I can do young chicken livers but no other liver. Maybe try those, they got some good proteins and iron.

When I was a kid we had liver and onions a couple time a month. My sister and I hated it and fed it to the dog under the table. Not long ago, my Mom mentioned that she doesn't like liver, I asked her why she fed it to us when we were kids. She said, " 'Cause it's good for you!"

I'm with you on this. I've had worse things in my life (lutefisk springs instantly to mind) but liver definitely isn't on my list of favorites.

Hey.... Whats wrong with lutefisk??? Don't you like a nice fish cured with lye? Gives it that creamy gelatinous texture that aids in digestion... That's what made all those Vikings run amok on their raiding parties... They just wanted something different...

BTW Steve, nice pizza... Looks tasty...

Cook most/all of your meals in cast iron (not the enameled variety, obviously) - a small amount of iron will leach into your food.

    And eat red meat! Yum!

    But man are they heavy....

When I saute, I like turning the food by flipping the pan...

    Sometimes it's a real workout...

Love me some liver and onions! I remember the Osan NCO Club had it for the dinner special once a week. Always ate there on that night. The half dozen slices of bacon they served with it made it extra good. Not a bad meal for a buck.

Just finished a Jersey Mike's sub #13 prepared "mike's way". I pass by their shop coming home from the VA and usually stop for a sub. Also had a bowl of their lobster bisque. Tasty dinner

Jersey Mike's Italian sub Mike's way is pretty good. The bread still isn't authentic Jersey, but their subs are as close as I've found in Dallas.

Rockfish lightly coated with Old Bay, made in a searing hot cast iron pan. Roasted Delicata Squash dusted with chipotle powder.
