Today's favorite: Mini basking in the sun after a winter layover in the garage. Taken last year on the first drive in spring. Mini Cooper S enjoys a prairie sunset
Is that how the shot came out of the camera, or did you do some correcting on the computer? That is a tough shot to get in-camera without losing your shadow details. CD
Shots like this are hard to do without correcting unless you bring some big ass reflectors out in the field or huge strobes and softboxes to light the shadows with fake fill light. But since cameras these days have huge dynamic range, this takes just a few minutes in post production on the computer.
That's what it's really like when you're there in person, but I've been going to Laguna since the mid 70's and have taken a lot of pics there... when you have a close up shot like Dave's, it definitely looks like that in a pic. What does look off is the green instead of dirt at the edge of the track.
It's a similar corner for sure, but the real thing looks like that - https://flic.kr/p/gpcifg - wider, steeper, and unless you are on the track itself, you can't take a shot with the same perspective. And from down low after the right hander, it is hard to be level with the track when looking at the corner from that angle as the hillside drops lower than the track on that side of the pavement. Higher up towards the turn you can be level and even above, but then the corner is seen more from a head on view like in the second image. Also, at that point you are looking almost right at the top of the car dropping down at the steepest part https://flic.kr/p/gm3X3M

Looks great! Kristan's EyeShades are everywhere... Glad I was able to talk her into just going for her idea.
2000, the heyday of CART/Champcar... he's a good driver, but Helio shouldn't have been in that car. ☹️
