It is amazing to see in-car video of an LMP1 car passing GT cars. Scary, too. :eek6:

Now that Fox has stopped flipping between FS1 and FS2 it's been only on FoxGo. The best part, no commercials.

They have misplaced Justin Bell somewhere out in the crowd.

I can't watch streaming video. Satellite internet is too restrictive. Nothing happening here until 0230 on FS1.

I can't believe it's so close after almost 17.5 hours. The first 3 cars are covered by less then 15sec!

What? All I have is FS1 so I missed the last couple hours of the race. Fracking golf bumped it!

Congrats to Michael Shank Racing, our homegrown team. To finish their first Le Mans 24 is a great feat in itself....to finish P14/P9 is fantastic. Great result for a class team and owner!!

Toyota Loses Le Mans To Porsche In Shocking, Heartbreaking Race Ending

And, a slightly better explanation snipped from another article:
"Nakajima initially stopped just past the start/finish line but eventually rejoined to complete the final lap, crossing the line second.

However, as his 12-minute final lap was too slow, the No. 6 Toyota was not classified at the end, promoting the sister No. 6 car to second and the No. 8 Audi R18 to third at the end."

I walked away with twelve minutes left, with the disappointing thought that the legendary 24-hours of LeMans would be won by a... Toyota. :incazzato:

The Porsche was 30-seconds behind, and the two cars were running the same lap times. I figured the only chance Porsche had is if the lead Toyota broke or wrecked.

    And then, it happened.

Here are some highlights. Good video, almost no commentary. For those who didn't see it, that start was certainly inauspicious. Something like 52-53 minutes behind the safety car because of rain.

I was there and the announcer that the driver of Toyota thought the race was over at first as to why he stopped. How about the whole Ferrari/Ford feud and the last minute changes to Corvette which basically rendered them non competitive for the event!

I'm curious to see how the GT BoP goes through the rest of the WEC season. There's no way to be sure what sort of data were used, much less whether there was some favoritism involved, but it sure looks like the folks running ... well, anything but Fords and Ferraris have every right to be steaming mad and complaining about it.

It's not really surprising, though, given how many times the FIA have meddled with series' over the decades in ways that clearly either benefit one car or hamstring another.

My guess is the Ford folks are claiming they just finally figured out their car in time for Le Mans but even if that were true it wouldn't explain how we ended up with a Ford / Ferrari battle and no one else able to get in the way. I'm sure that was just a coincidence ... right?
