My MINI is 12 years old this month.

Bumping because I figure we ought to have more 10 year olds by now. Anyone?

I have an '03 R50 [09/02 build] I bought in March,'04 with 2,200 miles on it. It has a CVT and 55k trouble-free miles on it so far, but I only drive it sparingly now and mostly to car shows. It's Dragon-slaying days were over in 2013, and it stopped going to the track in '05.

Wow.....this is weird. Was just thinking that it was about 12 yr ago I contacted the MINI dealership via email about how to get a new one. Looked at my old emails and realized I had initiated contact 12 yrs ago today. Took delivery 12/6/2003

My R53 just turned 10 in May and, in that time, it's covered a whopping 65,928 miles. I had a few beers in celebration, on its behalf!

My 2004 R50 is 11 and a half with 138K miles (Build date 11/03). Just did a new clutch and replaced the belt and tensioner to ward off evil spirits (they didn't really need in dire need of a change but...)

When I bought my MINI I planned to keep it "at least 10 years"...we're up to 14 years this month.

My MINI just turned 14 this month too.

And it is still doing great: http://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/mini-stuff/27957-my-mini-champ.html

I put more miles on it in the first 2 weeks of this month than I put on it over all of the past 12 months.

My goal is to keep my R58 JCW until I croak whether that is this week or fifteen years from now.

However if it is fifteen years down the road I probably won't have to worry about driving because

I won't even know what day of the week it is!
