On the up side, the new owners are posting more videos. On the down side, they seem to have forgotten that quantity doesn't usually beat quality. Or maybe they think they're only posting quality stuff?

I'll file this soundtrack choice under "trying way too hard to prove you're one of the cool kids".

I still think his old man was a better driver.

I agree, but Carols Sr drove in a very different discipline. My take is that rally drivers are the best in the world.

Apparently the Shark Fins are going away.

I'd like to see them go, myself. Some of them look terrible, though Merc has done a good job with the chimney design. Red Bull's looks like someone was told to put no thought into it at all, and is so big and flat, and goes so far back that I can't see it doing anything but blocking airflow to the rear wing while in a corner. Most of the others have at least some cutout or shape to them, but not RB.

    Good.

Maybe I can buy a SkyF1 subscription for my devices instead of resorting to other means.

Apparently the halo has also been dropped in favor of an adaptation of RB's aeroshield concept. The bigger surprise to me is they're planning to test it at Monza and Singapore and think they can implement it for 2018.

I want the driver's to be safe, but racing has an inherent danger to it, always has always will. It is never going to be completely safe. Not sure that a halo or shield is the answer. Time will tell.

Sure, there are some connectivity issues now and then, maybe some stuttering sometimes too. But heck, it's 1080 or better most of the time and no commercials and no Leigh Diffey. Now if Sky would pick up Steve Matchett too, that would be a coup.

The Sky broadcasts are so much better. They have the same feed as NBC for the race. The lead in and lead outs have real actual people on the ground there. Plus they have enlisted Pat Symonds to explain some really detailed stuff. Martin Brundle, Damon Hill, and Johnny Herbert, all ex-drivers, are part of the 10 on air heads that cover the race. All there on the ground. They get a lot that poor Will Buxton just can't get too.

F1 would do better in the US with Sky level coverage.

No commercial breaks from 15 min before the start till after the post-race podium interview.

    NBC doesn't have this...

Interesting race for the first three and if Hamilton's car hadn't had cooling problems it would have made four but where was the rest of the field ??

It was a great race, very happy to see Bottas take them in the first turn & stay in front for his first win. Massa did Vettel no favors on the last lap, but I don't think Vettle had enough to pass Bottas. As for the rest of the field there was some good racing going on in the mid-pack, but for what ever reason we weren't shown it.

Enjoyed seeing Bottas take his first win in style even though I was pulling for the red cars! Good race, fun finish and much enjoyed the class displayed on the podium... ;)

PS: And who didn't like Eddie calling out Toto to give Bottas a new 3 year contract with "proper money?"
