Took the MINI up to the Mini Mania Nevada City Adventure. Met some cool people including Mr. and Mrs. Checkers and got to check out his RMW powered MINI in person.
Squirted some O this stuff in this afternoon, then took 'er on a little test run. She feels faaaaaaanntastic :beer The original fluid looked like it needed to be changed, it was very dark in color.
I had all the best intentions of cleaning up Peppurr (new name) for the MINI Meet East event...but...it was a gorgeous day, bright sky, white clouds and a cool breeze, so wife and I drove to Indiana to see the grandkids in a local play. About 2 1/2 hours driving time and I loved every minute of it. Cleaning and polishing will come, but you have to keep the priorities straight.
so today is my 29 anniversary! So what did I do? I helped my wife with this... She made a paint booth so I could paint my motorcycle and finish putting it together. Now I am going to go out and hard wire the V1 (she bought me for our anniversary) in to the Helmet. Then we are off to dinner! Yes she is a good wife!
Woah..... For a second there I thought she was making one of these rooms... Best keep the wife happy....
Every engine is different as is every driver and every oil has its place. What works for one of us might not work for another. With apologies to Dave.0: My $0.02 is that I use the lowest viscosity oil possible that still ensures I maintain the prescribed oil pressure when at full operating temperature; all the while keeping in mind the required viscosity of the oil at cold temp start-up. OEM recommendations are based on providing the correct thickness at operating temperatures. To me, it seems like that the ‘thicker’ 40 oil will artificially elevate oil pressures when hot owing to the higher viscosity; decreasing the flow-rate. Also, not that too many here are likely concerned, the thicker oil should also produce a slightly lower MPG.
I've just about given up on trying to figure this out. In my R56 Mobil 1 0W40 was fine according to Mini and the Mobil 1 web site. My F56 came with 5W30, but again, the M1 0W40 was good according to the same two sources. Then in January '16 when they replaced the engine the spec was changed to 0W20 and the M1 web site says they don't have a compatible oil at this time.
Nope. That was gone more than a year ago. I'm driving a 2015 WRX for the time being. I watched my status go from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production". Man, I hate waiting.
Wait until the status says..... "Newly hired teenager, just learning how to shift a manual, is having a difficult time driving it off the transfer boat"
Not mini. I painted and cleared my motorcycle parts. But I got the clear coat to thick on one of the tanks and it run and my t-shirt touched another part and got fuzz in it!:mad2: does anyone know if I gently sand the run can I clear over clear coat after it has dried over night. I do not want to do the base coat agin!:mad2:
Thanks Dave! I just got back from the paint store. The guy there said there was no time limit. I only have 4 hours to work on it today. So I am going to wet sand today and spray Thursday when I get home. I hope this works.
MCS02...Let me know if you need some VERY fine grit sandpaper (5/0 to 8/0 grit) and I will send you some.
Ethel just crossed over US13 at the mouth of the Chesapeake headed to Baltimore for unload tomorrow. Sent all of her her info to the insurance company yesterday but they had no info on the 2018 Mini's in their system yet. That's why I started early.
Little joy ride out to a car show, couldn't have asked for better weather here in NOVA. Just beautiful out there!
My Daughter rode with me to my VA appointment in Durham. Afterwards we took a ride to Cary to visit the big Korean Market for lunch and some shopping. Like TATTRAT said, it was a beautiful day for a ride.
Yesterday: Traded wife's Countryman ALL4 S manual. Last day of the month deal FTW. One down; one to go... Sent using Tapatalk
