Well, this sucks...probably. Add another class, not a problem, but drop ST? :nonod:

So more global homologation of classes? Is that so teams can move between national and international competition?

Could be, but I'm assuming that's more interesting to manufacturers than it is to individual (non-factory) teams.

I was reading up on the TCR class. It looks like MINI is summarily excluded but I'm not sire why. They can run a JCW Clubman and still fit the bill.

Also, Subaru is INCLUDED but they don't have any FWD offerings in the North American market. Something smells funky.

I'm guessing MINI does not have any cars with an FIA holmologation. Seems like the blending of over there & over here will cause problems for some teams & manufacturers. I see this as a mostly positive move, but I hate what it will do to the small independent teams. Hope they can find a work around for them.

    Just saw this on NAM.

    "How to beat JCW Team
Streamed the Canadian Tire Continental race Saturday. It appears that the only way you can now beat the MINIs is to run into them (officially-make contact). Sometimes straight off of the track. Even the announcers speculated that the Porsche team (with Foss behind the wheel) would get a penalty after jumping the curb in the corner. Didn't happen and he was quoted "you take the win anyway you can." Is IMSA playing games with the upstart MINI team?"

Ha......same thing happened when RSR was campaigning the MINI's. S. Cattaneo was driving at Barber and Nic Jonsson did the same thing, drove right into her. Ended her race. His explanation after the race........"SHE" shouldn't be driving if she can't take the heat."
IMSA did nothing after that incident either.

That sucks, avoidable contact should get those guys parked for a lap. I hate that kind of carp.

Haven't watched the race yet. I will once my DVR records it.

    Edit.....

I watched this race yesterday. While I sure don't like what happened to to the MINI, the way I saw it was just a screw up by the P car driver & not an intentional hit. It's a shame, but that's racing.

There's another manufacturer moving to DPi next year. Also represents Penske returning to sports car racing.

Look for Penske to be a real powerhouse of a team. I'm sorry that our local team Mike Shank racing didn't get this opportunity to do this.
