As MINI's continue to get non-mini (LARGER)...

If HONDA came out with this, would they beat MINI at their own game?

Except for the big white wheels, I like it.

I like it. Unfortunately the crash regs are going to destroy that front hood and bumper line, which is the cleanest part of the car, IMHO. Oh yeah... I concur... the wheels are just silly, concept or no.

I like that better over anything MINI has been selling in the last 10 years.

I don't believe those are 10" wheels.

Regardless of their size, they look too big on the car and too many white spokes make them too busy for the otherwise clean design.

I would say it should come with a gas engine option but it doesn't matter since it probably won't come to the US anyway.

I can definitely live without this sort of silliness. Fortunately, it's probably something you can just turn off.

    I would buy one.

You can change the wheels and you know is is 10,000 times better built and more reliable than any BMW or MINI.

That's a remake of the Honda N360. I had one back in the late 60's when I was stationed in Japan. 360cc air-cooled twin, front wheel drive with 4 on the dash.

This was the coolest Honda I owned back then. The 600 Sport. Inline 600cc 4 banger, OHC, 4 sidedraft carbs, 4 speed and a combination of driveshaft and chain final drive. Redline on the stock motor IIRC was 10K RPM. I had a modified motor that redlined at 12K.

The production version won't come with those wheels. My wheels comments are just for the concept car.

Concepts are always fun to criticize. They usually have a number of design school student dream-induced, over-the-top features that would never make it to the street, but this one looks ready to go to me...minus those wheels. :D

I'll also be surprised if the front bench seat survives.

Small cars aren't selling well in the US. So I don't expect to see it here. Unless it comes as an electric.

BM'r needs to take a few pointers from Honda on this design. I'd love a retro inspired MINI. I'd buy it today.

You mean make MINI's minimal?:Thumbsup:

What a great idea, where have I heard that before ? Oh right, I have been saying that since the fat R56 came out and MINI went the wrong direction. :mad2::mad2::mad2:

I think MINI was still on the right track with the R56 line of cars. The next gen is where they fell off the rails for me. Although some folks do love those new ones. You, me & some others on this forum are a very small minority & MINI will never take what we think or like into consideration. Heck I can't think of any car company that gives a ratz arse what I think about anything.

Nick.....Electric concept is what it is....

Most likely after 2015 or so you won't be able to buy a IC powered car from anyone...

Road maintenance tax won't be collected at the gas pump, it will be added to your electric bill.....

All those electric Tesla's are running around on your gas tax for free....

Those clean electric cars are coal burning, natural gas burning or nuke burning polluters. But it makes the hipster driving feel good. "Hey man I'm saving the world."

Hey Chuck turn the calendar page, it's now 2017.

At the end of the day this Honda is a nice looking car. If all the american manufacturers are doing throwback designs for their "muscle cars" it's about time the foreign automakers follow suit but as always, do it better. If they decide to make a new Civic (or whatever) that is close to that concept I'd buy one long before I go for ol' fish face. It's not hard to make a good looking car. Someone tell MINI.
