This makes me think. I would like to take a road trip in something old, put the cell phones in the glove compartment and use only real maps. A nice long trip. That would be nice.
An Asian hot hatch I bought one of these when they were new. A fun little hatch & in its day a sporty ride. Kept it for many years eventually turning it into an SCCA ITA race car. Fond memories of this one. :biggrin5:
Minis on the mountain, Mount Panorama at Bathurst, in 1966! I know this is already here somewhere but I can't find it so here you go.
The death of Dan Gurney has me reminiscing a bit and that led me to this one. Not actually a great race for him (or I might have posted in the RIP thread) but still a fun blast from the past. Speaking of, "blast from the past" is also, I suspect, why the poster left in a few commercials from the era of this "Glory Days" rebroadcast. I had a Holy Crap moment watching...had no idea the Chaparral's huge, high wing was active!!! I didn't know it could change pitch at all, much less so severely, and never noticed it happening until now. Looks like it might be activated by the brake pedal? It's almost worth watching just to see Denny Hulme screaming through the pits in reverse after they told him he couldn't reenter the race with missing bodywork!
