Drove my non emissions exempt little hatch into work this AM. I heart messing with cocky FRS and old Sentra Spec R owners. :beer Seriously, just leave me alone and I won't embarrass you.
When I drive it I drive it very hard and enjoy the hell out of it. The best week of the year is Dragon week. Other than that she is just a fun weekend car now. We both work from home so we do not commute to work everyday.
My wife cannot judge distances well, since she has always driven big cars before getting her MCSa. Consequently, she has about destroyed the aero bumper colliding with parking curbs. :incazzato: It's so loose and I have just GOT to find a fix before it falls off and hopefully, NOT in traffic. I don't want to get a new bumper, although I'd be happy if I could get a used '06 S bumper in good shape, as a new one would be astronomical! :mad2: So, her car has orders not to be driven out of town...hell, 30 mph is fast for her, anyway.
This morning, I put some Royal Purple Synchromax into the transmission. I now smell like Royal Purple. Now removing old rotted radiator foam with Goo Gone to replace that stuff.
used aero bumpers are also astronomically priced. I long ago lost my urge to hunt down one of those aero bumpers.
Took mine for a spin. Filled the tank w/Shell V-Power Nitro+. Then met My Daughter and Grandkids at Huddle House for late breakfast.
Still working on getting all bulbs over to LED, having a hard time with the festoon style bulbs for the rear licence plate, but think I got a solution through Outmotoring, we'll see.
Bonded with my blue Mini in the garage today. More fun stuff finishing up the fan resistor mod, then swapped out the grill for a nice black JCW, then hooked up the HID fogs. Then real fun stuff bleeding the whole brake fluid. Looked like coffee what came out of there. Then just a few more cleanup wipes. We're getting closer to getting it back on the road.
Got my wife's MCSa"s bumper fixed...had it bolted to the frame and it's now rock solid. Yay! No need for a replacement.
Me I have done NOTHING........NOTHING with my Mini's!!!! Work Work Work!!! Still looking for an Amp. I may have to bight the bullet and get a new one. I guess I shouldn't be so cheep. I planed a quick trip to the Dragon in the Helmet a week ago to see the leaves change. I was hopping to pick my son up from college and take turns running the Dragon. But didn't happen.:mad2: I am bummed.
Today, I got my garage set up and organized after down-sizing sort-of. So, the car is now going into winter mode, with a list of 'stuff' to be done (mostly detailing) under cover when not being worked, etc, etc. Starting planning for the Dragon, and this is one I'm really looking forward to. This year I want to meet as many people as I can because I like to put names with faces...and I do that much better in person. AND< I'm starting to get my gallery together...slowly
Today I parked my MINI outside for some rain testing. I have a BMW e36 I am detailing this week so she has to sleep outside.
What is this "winter" you speak of? Drove mine to work today with the windows down, stereo on. It was glorious.
