My other vehicle is a '97 F-350 Power stroke diesel 4X4. The roof of the MINI doesn't even come up to the bottoms of the windows of the truck.
I have no problem switching from one to the other.

I cursed the coil packs on my N18, which are even MORE difficult to pull than the ones in my old N14 car.

Oh Dave, the F56 is a beauty queen in comparison. As time goes by the shock value of the new MINI has worn off. I go to see the eye doc in February so I can tell if it's my eyes or my taste in cars.

same for my (recently sold) Tundra Limited Crewmax. When I towed the red Mini from Florida, I could only see the fenders of the U-Haul dolly, nothing of the car, all hidden below the tailgate, even with the nose on the trailer thing. No issues going back and forth. Totally different worlds of driving. Loved my Tundra, just had absolutely no reason to own it any longer.

I drove the electric blue car for the first time after weeks of work on it. Getting ready for winter here and I need the car all sorted. Up next this afternoon is a trip to two muffler shops to talk about fixing a crack in the (Megan Racing) resonator. We'll see how that goes. Snow coming in tonight for the first time...

Well, good news and bad news. Good, I fly home to my MINI in the morning. Good, I got to drive the Saleen S7TT. Bad, I didn't get to really DRIVE it, because it had three year old gasoline in it. It was a chore just to keep it running. More good, I got some nice photos.

That is sad, the garage queen barely runs due to neglect. Nice photo CD.

In fairness, the current owner just got the car recently, and hasn't had it sorted out, yet. He can't fit in the car (I had to struggle to get in and out), so it is purely a financial investment, anyway. You should have seen his other cars, which included a Mclaren 720S, a RR Phantom Drophead Coupe, and a Ferrari 599.

    Mystery Bolt

Trying to id this bolt… Any ideas? Had a recent timing chain replaced and not sure if this is a by-product that someone left behind..

Nice…. I appreciate the response. Now the back story… Ever since the repair I have had a BAD rattle coming from the back side of the motor. Started off light and over the last couple of months has gotten REALLY bad.. I pulled all of piping off more than once trying to figure it out. I pulled the top motor mount and everything looked good.. Finally I pulled to bottom motor mount and this SOB fell out. Apparently someone dropped it when making the repair and it got wedged between the mount and the body.

    Finally changed the spark plugs.

Pulling the coil packs only resulted in a broken locking bow clip and broken skin on my knuckles.

P.S. ECS has a nice price on the OEM Beru plugs, non-MINI boxed.

    Exciting Mini day

Popped off the cover, cranked up my '08 Mini, drove about 3 miles at posted speeds to the Lake Pine WAWA, got a 16 ounce decaf, drove home, put the cover back on (after a 1/2 hour motor hood cool down period). I hope tomorrow won't be as hectic!!

Some dumb A$$ did not have the right angel when they were backing the Helmet out of the drive, kind of messed up the bumper. Its fixable, I think I may have fixed. But I think I need to pull the bumper off to do it right. Ran out of time!

I have a real talent for finding ways to hurt myself while working on cars, but found that changing plugs in my MINI was one of the easiest (and knuckle-safe) jobs I have done.

N14 or N18? The redesigned valve cover on the N18 is a bit of an obstacle for me.

...or maybe it's just my fat fingers. ;-)
