So I have a 2011 mini cooper s. I want to get a JCW rear bumper and diffuser since it looks sick. My problem is is that I want a Borla S type catback exhaust as well. Will the exhaust fit for my cooper s if I have a JCW rear bumper? I've been confused since Amazon says it won't fit when I enter my info as a 2011 JCW, but it says it will fit if I enter my info As a 2011 Mini cooper s. Can any of you offer some insight to this?
But for it to be effective you need to get the under body panels as well.... Without these, the the JCW diffuser will tend to act like a big air scoop throwing turbulent air up into the cavity where the rear suspension and muffler reside. The additional pieces smooth out the airflow under the car....
They originally came on the vehicle.... Then they stopped adding them.... I put the full OEM treatment on mine.... https://www.motoringalliance.com/forums/jcw/4464-r56-jcw-my-bottom-gonna-smooth-babys-butt-6.html The belly pan is a great addition... It creates a vacuum and helps will drawing cooling air through the intercooler and radiator... [/IMG] Picture from under the MINI.... [/IMG]
I have a 12' and it came with all the covering, unless the original owner added it. I added the GP belly pan and the diffuser :cornut:
My 2007 has zero under body panels. Makes me very sad that I have to waste money on things that came standard later....
All of these underbody components can be easily retrofitted to any R56/7/8/9 series MINI. Due to the cross bracing, the Roadster requires some minor mods to the side panels (there are several threads around that describe the process). I understand the initial, specific want of the diffuser. I originally had the diffuser fitted to the factory JCW Kit on my Cooper R59 (yes, you read that right) principally for the aesthetics, back when very few non-GPs were sporting it. I soon added the other pieces for the very reasons Metalman described.
