if anyone wants some R53 retrofits done, let me know. DEPO housings (they still autolevel) 50w HID's (Morimoto) 50w Ballasts (Morimoto) Bi-xenon HID projector. (Morimoto Mini H1 7.0) and as for the halos I use Morimoto ones, again. They can be wired into your turn signals, or you can always do a set of RGB-w Bluetooth controlled ones PM me for prices. These aren't cheap, but they have a warranty and have lots of people who can vouch for how good these lights are. Prices start at 900 shipped contiental USA. PM me for options. Below are some examples of my work, and optional extras.
I have this set-up. It's unbelievable the difference they make. I was really disappointed with the stock lights, so I added MINI driving lights. They only work on high beams so they weren't of much use. I need more light to drive comfortably at night (eye surgery and age) and these just fit the bill. The best part is that I was even able to install them myself, and it's well known that if it's possible to screw something up, I will. Adjusting is no harder than any other R series with the lights in the hood. Once they are dialed in, they are wonderful....and they look sexy too. Pic's to follow....
Zack is not a company, he is a cool guy I have talked to Zach on the phone. He is a college guy trying to pay for school by doing “one off†headlight mods for people. His work is excellent and a nice guy.
"they still autolevel" - even when the car has no leveling sensors and never was wired for HIDs? I looked into retrofitting OEM HIDs in my R53 and the thing got ugly when I saw the cost of the new harness for the leveling sensors.
No, they will only Auto level when you are replaced factory HID’s with these. Meaning if you already have auto level you will not loose your auto leveling feature unlike other cheaper HID kits.
replying to the PM now. Thanks for the response guys, I appreciate the support and I look forward to what this forum can bring me. Thanks.
These lights cannot be beat for a great for these old eyes driving at night...especially at night at the Dragon. They are BRIGHT and White and just go on,and on, and on. To be totally honest, the only problem I had (and I installed these myself w/o a hitch) was aiming. Had I had a level space, I would have adjusted them myself however, when I read the procedure per bently, and I found that MINI has a special tool for adjusting headlights on Gen 1's that allowed adjustment with the hood CLOSED. So, for me that was a no brainer...to the dealer it went...at least for the initial adjustments. I will have them adjusted by or at the Dragon, so you can see for yourself. As my x-mas luck was holding out, I got a coupon for $50.00 for service was under $95.00, my total bill was under $50.00. The MINI Gods were smiling on me, Someday, somehow,I will learn how to post pic's
Lol - send me the pics or when the new site is up, you should find it much easier to post pics. Still working on the target date to get that done.. looking like early January now due to the different schedules required to get that done. If you want to test out posting on the tes site (I'm looking for feedback) let me know. :cornut:
Ok I did a quick video to show the drag and drop for pics. Note I'm working on making this easier.. but it does "kind of" show one way to add pics from desktop/laptop. https://youtu.be/cU1CZEShagY Let me know if you have problems viewing..
Thanks - actually working on testing something tonight hopefully that makes it even easier (and more clear) to upload pics (and video's.. =)
