These just arrived. She probably won't let them stay on the dining room floor for long.

Rota RB, 16", Hyper Black. Will replace the 17" S-lites and Pirelli runflats. Should save some weight. Looking at 215/50-16's. Not much choice there, but the Kuhmo Ecsta ASX look like possibilities.

Should get them on sometime this week. Will post some pics.

Wow beautiful wheels!!! I'd rcommend 205-50-16 also, that's what I run. There is good choice of tires in that size. I ran a set of Kumho ASX a few years back, a decent a/s tire, but it won't live out a track day.

:cornut: Very Nice Wheels! Hopefully they only weigh around 14 or 15 lbs and with a set of non run flats on them you'll have dumped a bunch of unsprung weight and given your MINI a free suspension upgrade.

Thanks all. These will go on my current red MINI. The dark silver one is no longer with us.....

These weigh 16 lbs, not super light but much less than I now have. I did this in 2004 with my 02 DS/B and the tire selection in 215/50-16 was better than today. Will look at 205/15-16 options this afternoon. Need to get these wheels off the dining room floor and on my car!

I was looking at these a while back, then one of our members put a set on his Electric Blue R53. The result was absolutely stunning. I now hate him!

    Nice looking wheel.

    Why an all-season tire tho?

:cornut: They are 8lbs lighter than the S lights that you removed and that's a big improvement.

I have several reasons for A/S, none of them are good. After all, this is San Antonio. The few days of bad weather we have I drive my truck anyway. I'm on tire rack now looking at summers.

We lived in Europe for many years and in parts of the US where it does get cold (KS, OH, PA, NY). It was just easier to have all-seasons on all the time.

I've been very happy With my Yokohama S drives in 205-50-16. I've read the BFG Comp 2 tire is also very good.

Got wheels and tires mounted Saturday. Rota RB 16" Hyper Black. Continental ExtremeContact DW 205/50-16. It rained all weekend resulting in a very dirty car. Took advantage of DST and 80 degree weather after work yesterday to wash and take some iPhone pictures. More photo's in my garage.
