A familiar shape caught my eye while watching a trailer for the new Mad Max movie and I was able to grab an image.

Not sure if the Mini is totally stock - they might have modified it just a little. :D

See now that's an acceptable mod. That shell is probably worth more now that before they started with it.

It looks like a Mini shell on a Suzuki Samurai frame... I have seen this done before.

Are you sure this is from a movie? It looks a lot like what I remember from my dreams about ModFather and the other MA folks at the Dragon! :eek6:

I went to see Mad Max: Fury Road yesterday.

There is a scene where one of the bad guys is riding on the hood of a car (I think it was Max's Ford Falcon XB GT) squirting liquid into the engines intake scoop.

Then next, Max is on hood spitting mouths full of liquid that he syphoned from a jug, into the trucks intake scoop.

My question is, were they just giving the engine more gasoline, or were they giving it nitrous to boost oxygen?

They might have mentioned what they were doing but I missed it during all the action.

Obviously this is a movie where superchargers turn on and off with a toggle switch.

I also liked the vehicle solely dedicated to drummers and a guitar player. Kinda like how the Scottish had a pipe band acopmany their soldiers into battle.

    Low tech alcohol injection. Seriously.
Cools the intake charge and adds octane when on boost.
It's like a low budget redneck version of a Howerton Aquamist system.

I just heard a serious round-up of the films at Caen, and the reviewer said it was the best movie there (it wasn't entered into the competition, but it was shown the first day to enthusiastic audiences). Apparently the rest of the festival paled in comparison.

The movie has a 98% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes. That's virtually impossible, I've never seen a rating even close to that high. Most folks can find some faults with it (no one I saw is calling it a masterpiece) but there's something in it for everyone to like, apparently.

It's one special effect/explosion after another (and these are very, very good), followed by a bunch of killing, but, unlike most movies of the genre it has a pretty good plot. I've been burned by Rotten Tomatoes so many times I take it with a grain of salt (user reviews tend to be more accurate than their critics, many of whom are self-appointed critics rather than "real" critics, but I digress), but I'd agree with them this time.

Think Stephen King "The Stand" meets Mad Max, this is what you get.
