So when i transferred back east i sent Boogie back to the Dion's shop in florida for a bit more work

a bit of a run down

Replaced passenger side trailing arm (stripped hub nut)
Recurved distributor( to allow for the new head)
    retune/valve lash check

installed these bad boys...the ride is sooooo much better
    [IMG]

    full engine repaint
    [IMG]

plus got a few new things
some new convex bullet/dome style mirrors
    [IMG]

switching to a new 60k volt HV coil from pertronix... waiting on the custom mount from Jet Motors
    [IMG]

bought a couple of the tennis ball toys during MTTS last year...and decided to do a spin on a old school trick to keep the rear windows from closing at speed
    [IMG]

then did a 600+ road trip from Clearwater FL back to home in Slidell, LA
she ran like an absolute dream..the aluminum radiator did its job as the temp never climbed over 180...

oh and a final pic.... some local idiots were calling her tiny...so she went and got backup

It's always more fun when they run right, isn't it?

Glad to see you're getting some miles on her!

What kind of highway cruising speed did you make?

Putting the 2:76 final drive gears in Buzz gives me 3400 RPM @ 75, so it's easy to roll with modern highway traffic and it seems to pull hills OK too. Sure cuts down on the engine racket, but the wind noise more than makes up for the quieter engine! :D

Time for more pics and work...

Decided to upgrade the coil again to the new Pertronix HV coil...it is a solid coil with a built in heat sink.
    custom Jet Motors Bracket... [IMG]

Finally managed to prize the headlight rings from the buckets so i can replace the headlamp gaskets and the bulbs...now they have the PIAA h4 bulbs
    [IMG]
oh now her eye is punched out lol
    [IMG]
Got a set of green LEDs for the speedo so i can match the rest of the cars gauge lights
    [IMG]
But then...something seems a little screwy
    [IMG]
basically the rear suspension cones collapsed
the old busted cone...which separated from its collar next to the Mini Spares red dot rally cone
    [IMG]
dont mind the rust...things to fix later
but here is the new cone set up
    [IMG]
here is the passenger side cone... again split from the collar
    [IMG]
and the collar was rusted to the base...so i had to pry it off with a screwdriver...which busted the tip off but i prized it free of the base
    [IMG]

    and done

My friend Don switched to LED brake and turn signal lights too, the old 5w bulbs actually melted his brandy new $300 unobtanium lenses! Now you can actually see his tail and brake lights, plus no more meltage!
