I'll say it again. That, is a station wagon. That's not a knock, they might even sell well. Ignoring the rest for now, what's the little blinky red light on top of the shark fin?
I held off watching this, because I knew I wasn't going to like it, and I don't... Heck I didn't even make it through the whole video before turning it off! I do have to say one thing constructive to the spies at MINI HQ who troll forums for a living though... You shoulda just gone straight for sliding rear doors! MINIs design has unfortunately lowered itself THAT FAR! This car to me has the appeal of a Dodge Caravan from the mid 90's... Disappointing really.
Yep, the new Clubman is a whole size class bigger than the rest of the Minis. That might not make much difference in the US, but in Europe, it's a medium-sized car.
I actually like it. I could see replacing my 328i with it as my daily driver. It would NOT be my twisty fun car. But would be a pretty cool DD.
It IS a station wagon, and *I* am knocking it. It reminds me of the predecessor to my MINI: a Subaru Outback Wagon. If I wanted a car with 4-doors, I wouldn't buy a MINI. If I wanted a car with 5 or 6 doors I WOULDN'T BUY A *MINI*! What's next? An unabashed MINIvan that seats 6?!? And this is NOT a Clubman. They add insult to injury by adding that name to this station wagon.
From what I've seen, I like it too for a car its size. But I've only owned a 1st gen and I have a hard time associating this car with the MINI brand.
2015 Mini Clubman Vision Gran Turismo http://www.topspeed.com/cars/mini/2015-mini-clubman-vision-gran-turismo-ar167955.html#main This is the kind of car I want to see from Mini, but it’ll probably never happen. In all likelihood, what we’ll get is more of the same: larger, more cumbersome models, specifically tailored for certain “lifestyles†(I’m looking at you, Countryman.) But maybe, just maybe, Mini will see the error of its ways and instead focus on that “go-kart on the road†attitude that initially made the brand famous. A Mini Mini used to be about punching above its weight and zipping around with handling characteristics that made it a real contender in the world of rally (please don’t mention the ALL4 Racing version that competes in Dakar. That’s as much a Mini as the Toyota in NASCAR is a Camry). --------------------------- The new Clubman isn't a Clubman, it's a STATION WAGON! The Vision GT should've been made and the F55(?) should've been the F60-something.
