Anyone know what parts (joints, cables, etc.) of the cabrio roof need to be lubricated? The on-line guy at ECS Tuning didn't know, it's not in my Bentley manual and I've Googled till my fingers bled; no love.

Good question. I've never seen anything official about this.

Probably depends a ton on local conditions. It's not super dusty or icy where I live, and I've never done anything to mine, other than a few squirts of Teflon lube whenever I heard a squeak. 160k miles and my top still works like new. Others broke much earlier and I doubt maintenance was really a contributor.

I give the exposed scissor joints a shot of dry lube if they start to squeak and that's about it. Oh yea, I hardly ever put the top up so it doesn't make all that much difference.

I have a problem with that "lifetime" phrase. There is never a specific definition of the lifetime of what! :cornut:
