I need to remove my rear seat back and can't find any information on how to do it. I have found 6 torx screws that seem to hold the seat back in place...but there is a rod going into the rear side panels. Bentley is no help...

I will be adding some accessories (V1, gauges, no lights or amps) and want to add a separate circuit so as not to disturb the original wiring. I am going to remove the seats for more 'working' room. That is...if I can ever figure out how to get the back seat out:confused5::confused5:

As always TIA for any help or advice.

Fold the seats down. There is a bolt in the center between them. Remove it then the seat backs come right off.

Once ypu get that bolt out, you need to lift the catch lever it is holding down. That frees the inside rods for both seat backs. Lay the seats foward. Then you'll need to lift the seats to a 30 or 45° angle while pulling towards the center of the car. There is a cotter pin that needs to line up with a slot on the panel side rod. You'll see what a mean once you get the first bastard out. Just take your time and breathe.

Actually, I am taking the rear seat out to install a CD changer, but I will be running a separate 'accessory' circuit (both switched and unswitched) for any goodies I plan to install in the future.

Thanks for the help. You guys are the best...

I have run wires to the back of the car by only removing the bottom seat. then if you drop the top it gives you plenty of room. You may have to move the seat back up and down to find the sweet spot.

WOW...thanks guys. I have never gotten the thrill of driving as I do in a MIMI. It will be interesting to see what 'Pepper' morphs into at the end...
