I thought I'd share some pics on how to install boost gauge without any special mounting hardware since I didn't see this setup anywhere else. I gave up on the vent idea and did this instead. Only minor hacking involved.
Almost the same exact location I went with. I came up with a bracket that uses the screws on the back of the tach.... Also added a programmable shift light above my boost gauge.
Mechanical... Routed behind the steering column cladding through the firewall. Wrapped the tube with black mesh wire sleeving that matched the OEM wire wrap... This stuff...
That's about what mine was running before it blew. 'Course I'm at 4500' but that shouldn't make any difference. Did you ever get your tuning problems solved? Haven't seen any updates to your tuning thread.
Yeah I haven't had the car back long enough to do any legitimate updates, I got burnt out and was busy with the race season over the summer so I dropped it off and told Jzw to take his sweet time with it. I've just now finally started messing with it again. Jzw treated me right and it's got a few maps now with an ethanol 100 octane option. It had a few miracle pulls before things come apart. I'll post a dyno in a few weeks. Haven't seen you in a while obw! Glad you came back so I can give you hell about that pos boost gauge adaptor u sold me. It looked like a sad attempt at a custom fabrication job in ur garage.. It had to be destroyed like a noxious weed so that no one else can be exposed to that "gem" in the future. lmao.. No hard feelings but I have to give you a hard time about that one.
If this helps to add to the information? My 2009 MCS idles @ -6.87 to -8.5 psi @190F so 14-17hg Slightly higher idle reading 17.5-18.5hg @224F and depending on the outside temperature.
