I need some help working on my son's '07 R56 MCS, that we just bought used with 146,000 miles(he is 16). I had the noisy timing chain and hard valve seals and ended up with 2 bent valves before I got the timing chain replaced. I ended up pulling the head and cleaning up all of the carbon build up, replaced the timing chain, tensioner, 2 exhaust valves, and valve seals. The car runs awesome and idled a little rough initially until I replaced all 4 plugs. Since then it runs smooth, and strong, but I get codes 2772, 2773, and 27C4 using a Snap On Verus scan tool. I tried switching coils to see if the code moved to a different cylinder, with no luck. This is our first Mini experience after numerous Mustangs, and it is the coolest little car!! Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Jeff
Those codes are all related to fuel pressire and evaporation. I would look to see if the high pressure fuel pump was replaced under the national recall. Otherwise have a look at the evaporation cannister. I'm not sure where it sits but it's part of the fuel vapor recirculation system. Those will most likely be the cause of the issue.
Welcome to MA. I would start with what is stated above. Also here a link to ECU codes are for your Gen 2: https://www.motoringalliance.com/library/all-about-mini-coopers-17/ecu-codes-chart---2nd-generation-mini-102/ Whats interesting is it doesn't show this code unless I missed it..
