Had a rattle coming from one side of my rear cargo shelf and discovered that the rubber “bumper†on that side was missing. Solved the rattle by using a self-adhesive cabinet door/drawer stopper on the shelf on that side, but I’m curious if the bumper is available as a replacement part.

I’ve looked on RealOEM and elsewhere for the part, but haven’t definitively found it yet. From the RealOEM page linked above, it seems as if it could be “09 Spacer, adhesive 15X7X3,2MM†(#51311925548), but the picture is far from helpful. Anyone have an idea?

Here’s a picture to help explain what I’m looking for—it’s the rubber piece at center-left:

I don't believe that part is available separate. I appears to be constructed with the shelf only.

Thanks Grizld700—that was my fear. Luckily my improvised fix seems to do the job just as well.

When I had my R53 I had to build one side up more than the other to keep it from interfering with the rear hatch when trying to close. It didn't look the best, but it was small enough you'd never really notice unless you looked for it.

And I was trying to put knots in the two cords that held the shelf up with the hatch....

Was your shelft hitting the bulge in the hatch panel near the rear wiper motor?

it sure was. Sometimes it would hit just right and the hatch would bounce back instead of closing. Very annoying. Just about as annoying as the glove box that didn't want to stay closed.
