2nd Gen R56 Cooper Engine swap, n16 into n12 car

    anyone done this? I've been going through the part numbers and I've only found a couple differences, head same, belts/pumps/thermostat same, sensors same, intake/exhaust same, timing chain setup the same (who said n16 was more reliable?!?!)

    block, oil pump and oil filter housing changed but that's all I've found so far

    I picked up a 09 justa with a blown motor, n16's are 400-600 $ cheaper than n12's

    Do you mean N14 and N18? I would stick with the N14. It is a very strong motor it just has a bad rap from the way the PVC system is routed.

    No, he is talking about N12 and N16 engines of the non-S Cooper.
