[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tuYjIqzTBEU"]2015 countryman s engine rattle - YouTube[/ame] Hi everyone, new here! I've been posting on other forums to try to get some feedback. I have a 08 r52 and a newly purchased 15 r60... I know there have been issues with the timing chain and tensioner... I thought it was resolved in the newer models. I'm no mechanic but I will be taking the car in tomorrow. I just never heard my r52 sound like this. And all the videos I have heard online sound similar and they say it was a problem. We just bought it on 11/28. I'd hate if there was something wrong with this. I love the car so much!
Welcome, thanks for joining Motoring Alliance, the FUN and Friendly MINI Community. Have you checked the oil level?
thanks everyone! I have one forum saying its normal and you guys saying no :cryin: I have an appointment tomorrow at 9! I will let you know how it goes! Still love my Countryman :mad2:
They said all is normal. Showed them the video and everything. They showed me other countrymans engines as well. I left the report in the car- something about injectors. I'll type it out for you guys when my husband gets home. :/
The high pressure fuel pump definitely causes the injectors to "rattle" more... Your noise is much louder than my injectors... The thing is.... Did they document the complaint and did you get a copy of the paperwork... If so, just file it away with your other MINI records in case there is an issue down the road.... It's good to have documentation that you brought it to their attention...
yes, i asked for documentation and they said to bring it in if it changes... my brother came over the day after i recorded it and he said that my video made it sound worse than in person. heres to hoping!:fingerscrossed:
I had an F56 as a loaner this past week and If it's the same 2.0 turbo which I'm pretty sure it is, it sounded very similar to that. Almost like a lil diesel.
My F56 with the B46 motor sure as heck doesn't sound like this. My old '07 MCS didn't sound that bad just before they replaced the timing chain cassette.
