Received my VIN this morning, Ethel is in production. I was worried she would have everything we wanted since we kind of specked out her in the blind. The dealer and I were not totally sure of what was standard and what was options and what for sure was in each package. Looks like we hit her dead on. Only option I didn't get for the SE was leather seats since my significant other is a Vegan. For others who have questions of what is what on the SE attached is my VIN Decoder Sheet.:beer
Nicely optioned.... I especially like the first option... 1CA Selection Cop Relevant Vehicles... I assume it tells you what the traffic wardens are driving and where they are hiding... It probably shows up on the MINI infotainment screen... Very cool... Built in OEM system... Wonder how certain states will deal with this that have laws against radar or laser systems.... I'll bet it's all picked up with geopositioning satellites and processed through Cheltenham and then broadcasted worldwide from "The Doughnut" to all MINI's everywhere that have the 1CA option...
Hmm... Picnic Bench and Blow-By-Heater. Not to mention exterior mirrors and Acoustic Protection for Pedestrians!! WTF. :frown2: Oh, and a MINI Excitement Package too... Yah, it's sounding like it's Vegan alright...
I was in hope the 1CA option would get me on Live PD. However, sounds like it refers to the BMW proprietary Coil on Plug standard ignition technology. On relevant cars means it's not on diesels. Acoustic protection is a loudspeaker under the hood that makes engine noises so folks with disabilities can locate your car by sound at intersections. Picnic bench is stupid, it's a pad that sits across the back and drapes over the bumper. You can sit on ti with the hat up and snack.
So Production completion was supposed to be today 6/2. Update today is that production completion should be 6/8. The waiting is sooo much fun.
Man, the wait is rough. I went through the same thing on my R56 and I am about to do it again. Enjoy your ride when it arrives.
Redbeard, Thanks - This is my 3rd time, she left for the port today. 1st time was Seattle so it took forever for the ship to get to Tacoma.
She was booked to vessel today. She will be crossing on the Integrity departing Zeebrugge on 6/15 arriving Baltimore on 6/27. Dealer said it is normally about a week from port to delivery. We have a holiday in the mix so it could stretch it out a little.
Dealer called today We are am going to do paperwork on Tuesday and do the pickup on Wednesday. The wait is almost over.
We were in town and took a swing by the dealership. Parked in the back was Ethel. It will be a long wait until Wednesday.
