EIMers - I'm instituting this general chat thread as a placeholder alternative to its companion on NAM. We may soon need to consider a wholesale move of our club's online coordination here to MA if the security issues on NAM become persistent and the site ownership fails to respond to the need in a timely manner. Stay tuned to your email for more information.
I'm kind of scared to even try to access NAM! Deanman-saw your pictures from the Fall Tour, they are your usual fabulous! Sorry I missed it:sad:
I agree on all points! (I'm amazed they let you park on the front lawn of the Grant Wood house :yikes: )
Willie is missing all of his EIM friends it's been a busy busy year for us apparently always missing the good events
Glad you'll be making the trip! I hope other EIMers have the opportunity too. Thought about it hard, but DM is just too blasted far from home for me to make it there on a weeknight. I keep holding out for a weekend party someday... I placed an image of the official invite on our website -- just in case anyone hadn't seen it yet.
I know what you mean... I'll be taking the day off so we can make it to this one. I'd normally make it home from the salt mines about 4. Anyway.... if we don't see you in DesMoines, hope to see everyone in Balltown :beer
Just returned home from the east coast today. Jan flew out on Friday and we attended a wedding in Clifton, VA -- the groom was the son of some very dear friends of ours. The best part of the whole evolution was walking from the church to the adjacent restaurant for the reception. Lo and behold, what did I discover in the parking lot but a beautiful black Aston Martin DBS convertible. :eek6: Talk about some fine wheels! I watched from the restaurant balcony for a while, watching the number of people who went out of their way to scope it out. At one point, a guy looked up, saw me, and asked, "Is this your car?" I just thought for a moment and replied "Don't I wish!" I never seem to be able to come up with a snappy reply when the opportunity presents itself...
You could have told him "Yes, but I need to find the valet to get my keys back!" ... Seriously... what a magnificent example of craftsmanship! :yesnod:
Here's hoping that the "warm weather" implied by this thread stays applicable for all of our MOTD friends and for our big group headed to the Black Hills in less than two weeks.
