Body kits are not my thing. All show and weight and no go, but hey that's just me. Good luck with your kit.
Well guys, I got word last Friday that everything will be here in May. The first shipment arrives in about two weeks and the hood arrives about two weeks later.
Here is an update: As of this afternoon, the shipment was picked up by Pilot Freight in San Francisco and on its way to Pensacola. Scheduled arrival date is 5/30. If all goes well, I will start posting pics of the transformation process in a little over a week from now.
I hope you are getting a group discount on your own for buying all that at once, or that would cost a small fortune. I like some of their stuff but it sure ain't on the cheap..Let alone if you are payingto get some of it painted etc....
I get a sponsorship discount. It still cost me a small fortune plus what I am spending for paint. Tackleberry will be the first DuelL AG outfitted MINI in the United States. It will be the flagship, so to speak, for marketing DuelL AG in North America. I am excited to be involved in this venture. The money I have spent is well worth it. The guys at DuelL AG North America and Cosque Sato, owner of DuelL AG, have been super to work with. Everyone is excited to see the final product. Afterall, this will be a MINI unlike any MINI in the United States right now.
Well, my DuelL AG stuff arrived today. Everything looks great except for the cooling bonnet (hood). The freight company literally destroyed it. DuelL AG Japan has put a rush on a replacement. I did manage to install a few things today before Tackleberry goes into the body shop on Monday. I installed the DuelL AG blue-tinted rearview mirror, DuelL AG vented C-Pillar covers, and the DuelL AG carbon fiber GT Wing.
Well guys and gals, I am lonesome now. Tackleberry was put into the body shop yesterday morning for the facelift. I am hoping that everything goes well. I am going over there this afternoon to try and get some pics of Day 1 progress. Both DuelL AG NA and Barry from MC2 Magazine are wanting some pics of the transformation stages. The only thing not getting done this week is the hood since it was damaged badly when it arrived thanks to the freight company. DuelL AG Japan has a rush order on a replacement. I was told it should be ready for shipping around June 18. I will keep you all posted on the progress.
Well guys and gals, Tackleberry has been in the shop since Monday. Finally, as of Wednesday afternoon, some progress was being made. The front bumper fitting is almost complete, the rear bumper is on, and the side skirts are being fitted this morning along with the side diffusers. More to come next week.
@Tackleberry -probably would be best if you started a thread with all this in the project car area since it is a complete makeover.
Went over to the body shop this afternoon. The bumpers, side skirts, and fender flares had gone into the paint shop. When I went over there, one of the guys was just finishing up on wet sanding the front bumper. Looks like all those pieces either got paint this afternoon or are getting paint tomorrow. I am really hoping to have Tackleberry back before the weekend. I am still waiting for a replacement hood to come in. that should be in a couple weeks. Graphics package, gauge pod, and DEFI gauges should be here in about a week. More to come.
Went to check on Tackleberry today. All of the body pieces are now painted and ready for install. I was not able to get a pic of the front bumper. It was still in the paint shop because nobody had brought it out to the assembly shop. Tomorrow, the technician works on installing the LEDs and driving lights in the front bumper inserts, assembles the exhaust, and fits the rear diffuser. I am hoping to bring it home on Friday afternoon.
They are CraftSquare mirrors from Japan. Craft Square There are very few MINIs in the US with these. Tackleberry is only the 3rd car I know of with them. The only R56. The other two are R53's.
