Hi folks. I have JCW R55 but without Aero kit. Now thinking to buy Aero bumper (at least :)) and found on RealOEM I need to buy much more than just bumper:

RealOEM.com * BMW R55 Coop.S JCW Front trim JCW Aerodynamic Package

I am simply wondering why I need to buy new upper grill as well? It has different shape or something? Becasuse if I bought for example this:

Genuine BMW Mini R56 Cooper Facelift JCW Aerokit Aero Front Bumper 2012- (L19) | eBay

I understand I need to buy lower grill with those ducts and fog lamp covers plus those extensions on the bottom. Sere. But why upper grill? Thanks for reply.

I assume you are talking about PN 51110442012?????

If so, one of the easiest ways to determine which models and years it fits is to do a part number look-up.... This will tell you if the one you have will fit your MINI year...

Go to "Select Your BMW Model" and fill in the info at "PART NR APPLICATION SEARCH"....

RealOEM.com * Online BMW Parts Catalog

Then it takes you here.... With the full listing of where that part is used....:D

    RealOEM.com * Part Cross-reference

yes 51110442012 and this is what I already did and found part number is different. That is why I wanted to know difference between 51110442012 (aero grill) and 51137209903 (grill I already have on my JCW R55). What is difference?

Both grills are exactly the same......... Except........ The JCW grill hexagonal pattern is stretched with larger openings to let more air in.... Because Rase Koar....:D

It's not that noticeable.... I didn't change my upper grill and as a result I have the smaller pattern in the upper grill and the larger pattern in the bumper grill...

Exactly this is what I hoped for :). Just change for change... Do you have any picture of your car where is this noticeable? I can imagine it from your description so no big deal if you have not any.

All this started because I decided to change my JCW non aero bumper for Aero one and wanted to know what exactly I need to buy for the swap:
    WP_20140222_009.jpg

    51110404109 (#1 - bumper it self)
    51192153998 (#7 - lower grill with ducts)
    51110413253, 51110413252 (#5 - left/right fog light cover/surroundings)
    51110441461, 51110441460 (#4 - left/right bumper extensions)

    I just believe:
    - "deflector lip" #3 I already have something below the bumper (visible in the picture) so guessing it is the same
    - all clips and screws I can reuse (or they are too fragile and need to buy plastic once #11 and #14???)
    - upper grill and surrounds #8,#9,#10 can re-use as well

    Is this correct assumption?
