Is it possible -without replacing the whole bumper of a 2008 R56S- to fit those "disk brake air vents" that cool the brakes of the latest R56S?

That looks like the factory aero bumper that has been modified. Do you have the aero or standard bumper?

Either way you have to take off you bumper to fit them and run the tubing.

My bumper looks like the one on the picture, only not modified. I have the standard 2008 R56S bumper.
The aero bumper is the one that JCW uses, right?

No. There are three bumpers. The standard, the aero and the JCW.

In addition there are 2 versions of the brake ducts. They differ by model year. I can't recall when it changed but it was with the R56 refresh in like 2010-11? ish.

Anyway, I had the black brake ducts on my 09 JCW and ordered the red ones. The holding tabs are in different locations and they don't plug and play with the grill insert.

Oh and lets not forget if you are not running the Dragon or Auto crossing everyday you really don't need them.

For most people it just a "Look Cool" mod because people do not run the ducting from the vent all the way to the brakes.:(

If you don't run the ducts to the brakes, all they do is cool the tires.

As one that does run "daily" with ducted brakes I can report it's quite the eye opener when you don't have much of a pedal for a bit after a long highway run in the rain with temps in the 50's or lower.

Stock, not a special version like Aero or JCW.
