A little pricy at around $33 retail. I'm not sure what they're made of, but Sheri at MINI of Dallas has some on order for stock and for people who have asked her for them. I would assume rubberized as opposed to billet.

I believe there is also one available for earlier models. Not sure how much those are. She's checking. I would assume they would be simliar looking to the above.

I'll ask about the part number of what they have available.

EDIT: No part number yet, but I was told that it works for earlier than '07 models as well. Check with your dealer to be sure.

They must be a hot commodity since they take a while to come in right now. I'm sure a lot of new MINI owners are picking them up right away with their new ride.

From what I was told, this antenna works on any MINI model including prior to '07. Makes sense that it would be universal or would come with some kind of adaptor hardware. I don't know what difference there might be between the different year models as far as mounting.

I have a MTTS Craven antenna right now. It was from someone in Metroplex MINI who got it the last time MTTS came through Dallas.

Now all of use with an after market antenna can switch back and have our warranty re-instated

Yeah, they voided the entire warranty on my car at like 500 miles cause I put on a stubby.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the header, head, clutch, coilovers, etc etc....

They have 1st and 2nd gen versions available (screw thread is different). I saw someone post a link to a tweet from MINI of Ontario announcing availability. Another pic here: http://twitpic.com/2m5sfk

JCC it is really pricey compared to the aftermarket ones, but from what I recall a Honda antenna for an S2000 or Element (same antenna) was over $50 as well. :eek6:
Nate you should never have mentioned the antenna

FYI. The Craven Speed stubby antenna don't get nearly the same reception as the stock one does. Not that anyone listens to the radio anymore, but I'm still iPod-less.

I like my S2000 antenna. Gets pretty good reception... isn't too stubby... works...

This is really locale dependent. Here in flat as a flounder North Texas there is no range difference between a short and OEM antenna.

What is missing a discussion of the quality of finish. Way back in 2007 when I first bought my MINI I was given stubby antenna as a gift. That thing went from black to blotchy purple in a matter of months. Later that year I met Kellen at MOTD where he assured me theirs would not do the same. Fast forward 3.5 years later and it still looks as fresh and new as the day I installed it. I haven't checked if the Craven is more expensive but if it is I have to say the few dollars more are so worth the expense.

I've got a stubby that I bought off a board member so I don't know what model it is. It's rubberized and it works great. Much better in fact that the shark fin antenna on the 128 loaner car that I got when my MINI was in for an oil change.

I only have one ALTA part on my car and its the super small stubby antenna. The kicker is it does not work for crap like most ALTA products.

6+ years jamming to tunes from my iPod.
