I got this MINI as a “lease takeover†through internet site, last February. It is my 4th car and 2nd MINI acquired this way. It is 2008 Mini Cooper Clubman S. I am not 100% sure on ALL the options it came with, but I know it had “chrome packageâ€, cold package, sun roof, among others. The options were obviously the choice of previous owner, but I liked them anyhow. 2. Why did you choose a MINI? This is my 4th MINI. The one before was 2006 R50, 2 before that one were 20 years ago back in Europe. Those were Austin Minis. Once I drove one, that was it… 3. Please tell us about the various phases your MINI has taken as your mods progressed. Initial idea was to keep it as much stock as possible. With exception of checker “themeâ€. I know that a lot of MINIacs don’t like checkers. I get it. For me it’s all about nostalgia. I guess am a checker guy, not stripes guy… After I settled on checkers, I had an idea on dressing up the engine with a few things. After that came the wheels in body color with non run flats. And so on… 4. What has been your modification philosophy? Keep it modest, yet noticeable. Keep it on the budget, heavy restriction on a budget! You would be surprised about a deals I got on some stuff! Early morning/late night surfing the forums pays off! [imgl]http://www.motoringalliance.com/gallery/data/617/medium/DSCN01491.jpg[/imgl]5. What has been the most difficult mod completed to date? Why? Getting the wheels painted and mounted with no damage… 6. Where do you research and source your modifications; materials, parts, etc? Internet MINI forums, talking to parts department at my local MINI dealership. 7. Have other Motoring Alliance members assisted you? If so, give them a shout out. All did by my self and/or local MINI (auto) shops. 8. How did Motoring Alliance help you as a resource in your modifications? Great write ups about almost all mods that I did. Experience of others on the same topic is priceless! Pictures tell a thousand words as well 9. What are you planning next? What remains to be done? What are your goals? JCW temp gauge, black matte vinyl roof (maybe?), and than drive it to the ground for a long time… 10. Please list all current mods.
